16 Minnesota Organizations Receive Grants to Help Enhance Seniors’ Lives

 — Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life®) announced today donations of $275,000 to Twin Cities’ area nonprofit organizations that help senior citizens maintain a high quality of life through self-sufficiency. Allianz Life actively supports the grant recipients because they enhance lives and meet the basic needs of seniors throughout the community.

One grant recipient, Better Business Bureau Institute for Marketplace Ethics (BBB IME), received $25,000 to support their educational foundation program. Offering ethics education, the BBB IME provides resources to prevent marketplace fraud and scams targeting at-risk consumers, including seniors. To further support BBB in 2015, Allianz Life employees will be volunteering with the Better Business Bureau Safeguarding our Seniors elder financial abuse education program.

“We are honored to support organizations dedicated to making the lives of seniors better in our community,” said Allianz Life President and CEO Walter White. “Allianz Life shows its commitment to improving the home life of seniors by not only offering financial support, but also by helping residents maintain their homes.”

Sixteen nonprofit organizations received grants from Allianz Life ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 as part of the Allianz Life Senior Services Grant Program. Each organization addresses unique needs.

The 2014 Allianz Life Senior Services Grant Program recipients are:

Organizations were chosen by the Allianz Life Community Relations Governance Committee, which directs the grants program and ensures charitable practices align with Allianz Life core values.
