May is Senior Awareness Month! In recognition of seniors, Prairie Adult Care Inc. will be having a resource event all month long. Resource tables from various local service providers will be displayed upstairs at Victory Lutheran Church located at 16200 Berger Drive in Eden Prairie. Sign up to win prizes including free respite care, care baskets, gift certificates and more! Stop in at your convince any time between 7am – 5pm Monday through Friday during the Month of May!

New Caregiver Support Group In Crystal!

This is an open group that caregivers may join at any time.

There is no fee for group participants.

Group sessions focus on helping individual caregivers as they care for themselves and loved ones. The support group is a place to share experiences, struggles, humor, coping strategies, and learn from one another. Education and empowerment opportunities are presented as well.

Snow Removal Workers Needed!

Snow removal workers needed for our H.O.M.E. Program. We are looking for individuals who can provide snow removal services for our clients within 24 hours of the snow ending. Must have reliable transportation, own equipment, pass a background check and provide references. Pay is $14.00 per hour. If interested please email t.morin@seniorcommunity.org or call 952-746-4046.

Brooklyn Center Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector Program

SCS’s H.O.M.E. Program has partnered with the Brooklyn Center Fire Department to offer FREE smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to Brooklyn Center residents. For more information call 763-549-3639 and leave a voice mail. You will be called to set up a day and time.

Aging In Place Educational Fair – FREE

The National Aging in Place Council is having a FREE educational fair with over 15 Aging n Place organizations exhibiting and meeting one-on-one to answer questions. As you or someone you love ages, we make staying at home possible!

Program is looking for homemakers in Brooklyn Center, Crystal, Golden Valley, Hopkins, Maple Grove, Minnetonka, New Hope, Plymouth, Robbinsdale, and Wayzata to help seniors with housecleaning, laundry, and running errands.
