Recognizing Volunteers

Recognizing Volunteers

By Don Waletzko; Senior Community Services, CFO

The Mission of Senior Community Services is to develop, coordinate and provide services that help meet the needs of older adults and support their caregivers.  Our Vision is to mobilize the community to Reimagine Aging.

For many years, Senior Community Services has been receiving significant help in achieving its Mission and Vision from hard working, compassionate volunteers.  In 2015 alone, 4,251 volunteers contributed 82,868 hours to the various programs offered by Senior Community Services.

These volunteers not only provide a direct and substantial benefit to the older adults and caregivers that they serve; they also provide an indirect and important benefit to Senior Community Services.  You see, Senior Community Services is very dependent upon financial contributions in order to fund its programs.  When we talk with potential funders, they are very impressed with our volunteers.  They recognize that dollars contributed to Senior Community Services can go even further because of the leverage provided by our volunteer program!

A big thank you to all of the wonderful people who volunteer for Senior Community Services!
