Join us to help volunteers impact the lives of seniors and help them age in place in their homes and communities. Work with our volunteer coordinator to help recruit and coordinate community volunteers. Help with scheduling of group and individual volunteers. Reach out to diverse populations with a focus on Minneapolis to inform older adults about the services we offer. Help us develop our new technology service that is designed to teach older adults about technology and get them connected online to resources, family and friends.

We are a mission driven organization that works with older adults and their caregivers to help them with affordable home maintenance so they can remain in their homes and communities. We work collaboratively as a team both in the office and remotely to coordinate services with field staff and volunteers. Organization Description
Senior Community Services’ HOME Program works in Hennepin, Wright and Sherburne Counties to help older adults with home maintenance and connect them to community resources. We do this work through our dedicated field staff and community volunteers. We work collaboratively with our Senior Outreach social work team to connect older adults to other resources as needed. We strive to serve compassionately, support independence, empower caregivers an connect community in a way that honors diversity, equity and inclusion.

This position will include recruiting, onboarding and scheduling volunteers and volunteer groups. Communication will be over email and phone with participants and volunteers. Success in this position requires the ability to be a good team player, multi-task, communicate effectively with both seniors and volunteers and work well in a fast-paced seasonal work environment.

As a VISTA member, you will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of our volunteer program and contribute to the success of our new technology service. You will participate in our community outreach with a focus on the diverse populations of Minneapolis that we serve. You will contribute to efforts to improve our volunteer recognition and participate in different areas of the agency throughout the year. We are looking for someone with a heart for serving older adults and joining a team that shares this passion.

MAVA VISTA Program Benefits
As a MAVA VISTA member, you will work with a cohort of other VISTA members attending monthly professional development workshops, partnering to deliver presentations, and working closely with MAVA staff and members. In exchange for your year of service you will receive $1,116/month, a choice of a $6,345 education award or $1,800 end of service stipend, access to professional development funds, and free registration to MAVA trainings and conferences. Program Start/End Date: 8/16/21 – 8/15/22

Benefits include: Childcare assistance (if eligible), professional development opportunities, relocation allowance (if applicable), health coverage, paid mileage for trips taken during the work day, education award of $6,345 or cash stipend of $1,800 following completion of service.
