The third and final Memory Cafe with an activity facilitated by the University of Minnesota Master Gardeners - Wright County is coming up on Wednesday, June 12 at the Crow River Senior Center in Wright County MN. May is #OlderAmericansMonth! The 2024 theme, #PoweredByConnection, recognizes the profound impact of meaningful relationships and social connections on our health and well-being. Our participants often tell us how much it means to them when volunteers spend time at their home to tackle some yard work or a small painting project, but most often, the interaction and storytelling is just as meaningful. And sometimes, serendipitous moments like this one happen. Last month, as we were scheduling a volunteer group from the @atonhq at the @umntwincities, we discovered that Gregor (age 87), one of the HOME program participants we were scheduling for, had pledged the fraternity when he was in college!
