In celebration of World Social Work Day, Tuesday, March 16th, we would like to recognize our phenomenal team of social workers here at Senior Community Services. Social workers are essential to our community, and no one knows that better than we do! Innovative, kind, and always willing to listen, the Licensed Social Workers that make up our Senor Outreach and Caregiver Support Team are simply the best.
Did you know our Senior Outreach program is one of the oldest in the nation? It’s true! We were among the first to innovate and deliver services to help older adults in the community.
What’s the secret to our longevity? Our licensed social workers love working with seniors. Even with all of the challenges of COVID-19, our social work team has been there for seniors in our community.
Bob Anderson, LISW from our Senior Outreach and Caregiver Services team says that if there is one thing we wished people understood better about older adults, it’s their resiliency. “The wealth of knowledge that they have accumulated and are willing to share with others is remarkable. Their insight into past lived experiences and how they may or may not be related to current events is always appreciated and recognized.”
Krystal Wiebusch, LSW agrees, “I have learned more about coping, strength, and adaptation in 2020 from my caregiving clients than ever before!”
Our amazing social work staff is there to listen, support, and help seniors and caregivers navigate the challenges that transitions in aging sometimes create.
And, they recognize the strength and knowledge that comes with age. It’s why Senior Community Services has been around so long.
