Together, people can accomplish so much more than we can alone. This truism was again evident October 10 when 200 friends and supporters attended the Key Community Partners Award Luncheon. They came together to celebrate and support the Senior Community Services mission. “We express our heartfelt gratitude for this great community of friends. They recognize the duty we have to support the needs of the seniors in our lives,” says CEO Deb Taylor.
The 2014 Key Community Partner Award recipients are:
• Kathy Stein has been a dedicated volunteer for 16 years, donating nearly 800 hours of her time and talents.
• Catholic Heart Catholic Workcamp volunteers donated nearly 7,700 hours rehabilitating the homes of Twin Cities’ seniors. Catholic Heart volunteers are important participants in the Senior Community Services Household & Outside Maintenance for Elderly (HOME) program.
• The City of Bloomington is recognized for its commitment to older adults and support of the Creekside Community Center. Bloomington also financially supports our Senior Outreach & Caregiver Services and HOME programs.
• Jewish Family & Children’s Services is a vital partner in providing key services that help seniors remain independent. The organization was instrumental in the formation of an ACT on Alzheimer’s action team to help prepare the community for Alzheimer’s disease by enhancing support and access to services.
• Dorsey-Whitney law firm is recognized for its generous donation of pro bono legal services and office furniture to Senior Community Services. The firm led the process to trademark the new logo and tagline – Reimagine Aging.
