MINNETONKA, Minnesota — Senior Community Services’ Board of Directors has appointed Roxanne Jenkins as the organization’s new CEO, effective May 1st.
Outgoing CEO Deb Taylor will retire on May 30th after nearly 17 years as COO and CEO. Under Taylor’s leadership, the organization grew in almost every way: expanding service areas, growing the number of seniors and caregivers served, and piloting innovative new service models.
“After many years of leading Senior Community Services, I am confident that Roxanne Jenkins possesses the skills, knowledge, and drive necessary to elevate the organization to its next level of growth, enabling it to support more older adults and caregivers in Minnesota,” says Taylor. This leadership transition coincides with the organization’s celebration of its 75th anniversary.
On her new role, Jenkins says, “Joining Senior Community Services is, in a way, homecoming for me. I have spent many years developing services that support older adults, and I am proud to join an organization that shares my commitment to serving our neighbors as we all grow older.”
Jenkins has over 30 years of experience in the field of aging, most recently at Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota as the Associate Vice President of Older Adult Services. She has launched programs and initiatives that address the needs of older adults such as caregiver wellness and nutrition solutions. Her personal mission has been to create and foster meaningful connections that change lives for the better and advance person-centered care, aligning strongly with Senior Community Services’ mission to empower people as they age.
