“Reimagine Aging Conference: Aging in a Digital World” aims to address the digital divide for older adults

Senior Community Services (SCS) and presenting sponsor Allianz Life announce the 9th Annual Reimagine Aging Conference, “Aging in a Digital World”, being held Friday, September 27 from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Heritage Center of Brooklyn Center.

“Allianz Life has been sponsoring the Reimagine Aging Conference for many years and is a dedicated supporter of SCS, providing material and financial support, while also actively participating in volunteer opportunities,” says Dr. Jean-Roch Sibille, Senior Vice President, Chief Investment Officer, Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America and Chief Executive Officer, Allianz Investment Management U.S.

Sibille adds, “SCS truly exemplifies the values that Allianz holds dear, such as caring for the community, promoting inclusivity, and showing compassion. Allianz is fully committed to securing a bright future for seniors, and SCS goes above and beyond to provide heartfelt support and innovative solutions for older adults.”

The event will host keynote speaker Stephanie Devitt, founder and principal consultant of SDK Communications + Consulting. Devitt will be presenting “Lessons from Minnesota Voices on Telehealth Access and Digital Equity”, combining learnings from Connectivity Blueprint and a telehealth study conducted by the Minnesota Department of Health.

“Through this keynote address, Senior Community Services is putting a valuable spotlight on digital equity for seniors,” said JoAnn Birkholz, Executive Director of the Medica Foundation the returning keynote sponsor for the event. “It aligns with the Medica Foundation’s goal of ensuring seniors have access to technologies that improve their health and wellbeing. We are pleased to support it.”

The breakout speaker lineup includes representatives from Metropolitan State University, East Side Neighborhood Services, the MN STAR Program, and Tech for Seniors. Topics include the basics of technology vocabulary and taking control of online privacy to aging in place with assistive technology and a case study of a program that provides secure, limited function tablets to isolated older adults.
