Older adults in your city need you.

If you’ve raked your own leaves your whole life, one day you’ll realize it’s just too hard to do yourself anymore. For low-income older adults already stretching every dollar to make end meets, paying an expensive company is out of the question. And just letting the weeds or leaves pile up can lead to angry neighbors or fees.

Here’s how you can help:
By doing a one-time yard work project for an older adult living near you, you are relieving a financial burden, providing social connection, and helping them age in place — which means to live independently in one’s own home for as long as possible.

How does it work?
You pick a date, time (2 hours minimum), and preferred city, and we’ll schedule your group with an older adult near you who has requested the service through our Household and Outdoor Maintenance Program.

We welcome groups of all ages and types!
Your family, students, colleagues, faith community members, or whoever else you gather with will love volunteering with us. Larger groups (more than 6) may be asked to split into smaller teams to go to multiple houses. This helps us serve as many older adults as possible. Youth ages 7 and older may participate with adult supervision.

These groups love our volunteer opportunities!
Schools (from elementary to university) and home school groups
Neighborhood associations and public services (police, fire, city council members, etc.)
Lions and Rotary Clubs; American Legion Posts
Faith communities
Sororities and fraternities
Scout troops & youth groups
Corporations/businesses
Sports teams

Coordinating your group’s calendars can be hard. That’s why we work around your schedule, not the other way around.

In Your Own Area
