Now Recruiting for Spring Yard Clean-up & Lawn Mowing
The best weather of the year is almost here! That means a senior near you needs help getting their home ready to enjoy it.
Lawn Mowing
Commit to a mowing the lawn every 7-10 days for a senior who lives near you for the whole season. A great opportunity to build a lasting relationship with someone new in your community.
Spring Clean-Up
Spend a few hours sweeping walkways, weeding garden beds, putting out lawn furniture, and other outdoor tasks.
You must be 16 or older to volunteer alone. Those under 16 may volunteer with a parent or guardian. Individual volunteers must also complete a background check and provide references as you may occasionally have access to sensitive information about our clients.
We thoroughly vet all our individual volunteers since they may have access to sensitive information. This is a one-time process that you don’t have to repeat every time you volunteer.
Once you fill out an application, a Volunteer Coordinator will reach out to schedule a get-to-know-you interview. We will also run a background check and contact references. If you’re a good fit to volunteer, you’ll be able to choose your own hours and cities you’d like to serve in!
You will typically have the freedom to create your own schedule. Volunteers who go to seniors’ homes (for things like lawn mowing, spring clean up, or home maintenance) call the older adult directly to make at appointment at a time that works for both of you.
Some opportunities, like administrative support at our office or staffing tech clinics, are regularly scheduled on a weekly/monthly basis.
In any case, we pride ourselves on working around your schedule, not the other way around.
We’re happy to answer them! Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator for the county you’d like to volunteer in.

Administrative support
Come in to our Minnetonka office to help with mailings, data entry, research projects, phone calls, and more.
Technology support
Tech-savvy volunteers with patience and a passion for helping older adults can support regularly scheduled one-on-one clinics in various locations. Help with everything from texting, email, and video calls to device setup and security, adjusting features and functions, troubleshooting, and more.
Home maintenance
Volunteers with skills in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, and painting help with home maintenance. Volunteer handypeople are only assigned projects that do not require a licensed professional or permit.

95% of those using our HOME Program say that the service helped them stay in their homes longer.

It shouldn’t be a hassle to give back to your community, which is why we work around your schedule, not the other way around.

Our volunteers help seniors stay in the communities they love, including yours, which means our opportunities are close to home.
