MINNETONKA, Minnesota – Senior Community Services (“SCS”) has received Title III grants from Central Minnesota Council on Aging (“CMCOA”) for its Household & Outdoor Maintenance and Caregiver Services programs. This support allows us to continue our work in Wright & Sherburne counties supporting older adults and their caregivers. This funding will ensure that older residents in these areas continue to age with dignity and that their caregivers are supported and empowered in their roles.

The HOME (Household & Outside Maintenance) Program provides seniors with quality indoor and outdoor home maintenance services including minor home repairs, painting, yard maintenance, home safety assessments and house cleaning. These services are provided by trusted and dedicated staff and volunteers who live in the communities they serve. Whenever possible, program participants are paired with the same workers and volunteers over time to build relationships in the community.

Caregiver Services supports those providing care to older adults so they can maintain their own physical and mental wellbeing while feeling confident and empowered in their role. Caregiver coaching, consultation, family meeting facilitation, support groups, and memory cafes are provided by a locally based Licensed Social Worker who specializes in supporting caregivers.

SCS first expanded its service area to Wright and Sherburne counties in 2018. We are grateful to CMCOA for their continuing partnership in supporting older adults and caregivers in this area of Minnesota. These services are funded under contract with CMCOA as part of the Older Americans Act program.
