Volunteer spotlight: Schlenner Wenner & Co.! For y Volunteer spotlight: Schlenner Wenner & Co.! For years, they have shown true community spirit by volunteering with us every fall to rake leaves for older adults. Fall can be a nightmare for seniors who can’t rake leaves themselves and Schlenner Wenner & Co. alleviate that burden for multiple houses in a single afternoon. “Community-minded is one of our firm’s core values, and our employees look forward to volunteering and finding ways to be of service. Volunteering not only brings us closer to the community, but also makes us a closer-knit team.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves! 🍁🧡 Seniors come us to because they need a little bit of extra help to stay in their homes. We couldn’t provide that help without dedicated people like them. #NationalVolunteerMonth
Hiring someone to do your spring yard clean-up can Hiring someone to do your spring yard clean-up can cost hundreds of dollars. For low-income seniors who are already stretching every dollar to pay for food and healthcare, that's a tough bill to foot. That's where our volunteers come in. They give just a few hours of their time to weed, sweep, put out lawn furniture, and get their neighbors' outside spaces ready to enjoy the most beautiful time of year, all at zero cost to the resident. 🧡 But right now, we have hundreds of requests from seniors in the Twin Cities who need some help and not enough volunteers to do it with. Would you consider volunteering with us? You can bring your friends (or go it alone!) and pick your own day and time. Learn more ▶ https://seniorcommunity.org/volunteer/

She volunteers twice a month helping seniors with “any tech item they can carry.” She’s helped with phones, tablets, laptops, and even cars. Her favorite thing about volunteering? “The people of course! Everyone in the senior center, whether employee, volunteer or seniors, is a blast to be around.” We would say the same about her. 🧡 Ginal, the digital world would be so much scarier without you. Thank you for all you do! #NationalVolunteerMonth
