The Suzanne Holmes Legacy Fund and LeagueAires

The Suzanne Holmes Hodder Legacy Fund and LeagueAires are pleased to be the lead sponsors for this year’s Reimagine Aging Conference Key Note Speaker, Dr. Kerry Burnight.

The Suzanne Holmes Hodder Legacy Fund was created in loving memory of Sue Hodder by her family. Sue was an active member of LeagueAires from 1984 to 2011. Sue’s family generously created the Fund to support and expand the mission of LeagueAires. A major component of this gift enables LeagueAires to produce community educational events that explore the transformative power of music. LeagueAires is very grateful to the Hodder family for their ongoing support.

LeagueAires–a women’s song and dance troupe–began in 1966 as a project of the Junior League of Minneapolis. LeagueAires’ mission is to bring the joy and healing power of music to older adults and to those with special needs. Its entertaining one-hour shows incorporate singing, dancing, costumes, group choreography, and audience interaction. Now in its 53rd year, LeagueAires continues to sing annually throughout the Minneapolis and St. Paul metro area at more than 40 venues, including senior residences, nursing homes, businesses serving individuals with special needs, and schools for children with special needs. During each performance season, LeagueAires touches more than 5,000 lives and, as a group, volunteers approximately 10,500 hours.

LeagueAires is sponsored by the Junior League of Minneapolis (JLM), MacPhail Center for Music, and The Suzanne Holmes Hodder Legacy Fund.
